RANGERS RETURN TO
SEE OFF NORTHAMPTON
Monday 7th January 2008
by Ron Norris
The under 18’s returned
to action after their Christmas break this past weekend and got straight
back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Northampton Town.
After three weeks
without a game it was good to see the break hasn’t dented the lads form
as they extended their winning run to nine matches at this level.
However after battering their way through opponents in the later half of
last year this one was anything but a cakewalk.
After a goalless first
period it was the visitors who took the lead when Shaun Goodall put
Northampton 1-0 early in the second half.
Rangers dug in though
and turned things around with goals from Josh Parker and substitute
Aaron Morgan-Cummings to earn the win.
The result extends our
lead at the top of the South East Conference table to 9 points over
second placed Wycombe who have played two games less.
Next week The R’s
travel to struggling Southend United looking for their tenth straight
league success. We’ll have news from that game online next Monday.
