RANGERS
STILL IN THE TITLE HUNT
The under 18’s remain right in the
hunt for the South East Conference title after taking four
points from their last two games.
Last weekend
they saw off Portsmouth in a re-arranged away fixture, goals
from Keiron St. Aimie and Romone Rose gave The R’s a 2-0 victory
in that one. Then this Saturday a thrilling comeback earned the
lads a 2-2 draw at home to Southend.
Joe Gallen’s
side found themselves two down by half time against The
Shrimpers, but fought back made the latest of late comebacks to
earn a point.
First St. Aimie
gave Rangers the lifeline with two minutes left to play making
it two in two for the rejuvenated forward. Then, deep into a
very long period of stoppage time, R’s trialist Angelo Balanta
knocked home the vital equaliser.
The draw means Rangers sit just a
point behind leaders Gillingham with two games in hand over the
Kent boys. We have five matches left to play now and next week
have an away trip to Rushden and Diamonds to look forward to.
The home fixture ended in a 6-0 romp for Rangers, another result
like that will do very nicely!
