RICKETTS IN - REHMAN OUT

The end of the loan window saw a late flurry at of activity at Loftus Road with one player coming in and another going out.

Loaned out

The striker that people have been desperate for hasn’t materialised but we have got “another” midfielder, plus Rehman has gone!

The first news of the day was the announcement that Rohan Ricketts had signed on loan from Wolves for the rest of the season. Ricketts had burst onto the scene with Spurs before a loan move took him to Coventry and then another loan took him to Wolves. That move was made permanent in the summer of 2005 but in recent times he has fallen out of favour with Mick McCarthy.

Ricketts is a quick skilful player who is able to line up anywhere across the midfield and will provide able cover for the current first choice four of Rowlands, Bolder, Idiakez and Cook. From the sounds of it he is here as cover but a couple of decent showings and the sound of twanging from Rowly’s hamstring could see him in sooner rather than later.

Zesh Rehman meanwhile has left to go to the Paladini knackers’ yard at Brighton. With failed signing Nick Ward already there Zesh will be in good company as he tries to get his career back on track. Rehman has been consistently poor this season and the signing of Danny Cullip meant chances would be ever fewer and further between than before. His horror sub showing at Southend was clearly enough for Gregory and he has been shipped out. If he ever pulls on a Rangers shirt again I would be surprised.

Good luck to both players as they embark on the next stages of their careers.
