GOODBYE GALLEN

In the final part of our farewell trilogy we look back on Kevin Gallen's highs and lows during his time at Loftus Road.

Good luck

This summer we say goodbye to three players in Kevin Gallen, Marc Bircham and Paul Furlong, who were all part of the promotion winning squad of 2004 and all of whom have made their own unique contributions to QPR over the years. We have already looked back on Furs and Birch's time at Rangers and in the final part of this series it's time to say Goodbye Gallen.

1995 - Early days in The Premiership

GALLEN ON HIS TIME AT QPR

"There have been plenty of ups and downs during my 12-year stint at Loftus Road but the good far outweigh the bad, especially over the last few years.

I was a big QPR fan as a kid and I wouldn't have expected to be here for this length of time. If you had said to me that I was going to play only one game I would have been happy"

1996 - On England duty

OLD TRAFFORD 1994

Making his Queens Park Rangers debut aged just 17 at Manchester United and winning a new fan in Alex Ferguson.

2000 - Nearing the end of his first spell at Rangers

GALLEN ON RAY WILKINS

"I think the best player I played with would be Ray Wilkins with Les Ferdinand a very close second. Ray won 84 caps for England and was a legend. Not only was he a great player but he was also a really top bloke.

His attitude and commitment to training and games meant that he was really someone you could look up to – and he was always willing to have a chat with the younger players too."

2001 - In action for Barnsley

LOFTUS ROAD 2001

Returning for his second spell as a Queens Park Rangers player and destroying Swindon on his re-debut.

2003 - Celebrating a goal against Bristol City

GALLEN'S BEST MOMENT

"My best recent memory was winning promotion at Sheffield Wednesday at the end of the 2003-04 season.

We won 3-1 and I was lucky enough to score and the scenes with the fans afterwards were incredible."

2004 - Knocking one in against Peterborough

FRATTON PARK 1996

Injuring his knee at Portsmouth and never being able to become the player he should have been.

2004 - Scoring during the game against Sheffield Wednesday

GALLEN ON LEAVING RANGERS

"I was basically forced to leave Rangers, there was no other option. I only started two games up front for QPR this year and scored twice and then I got dropped the next game.

It was disappointing that it had come to the stage where I thought if I didn’t go and play football elsewhere, my options would have been very limited to get a Club next Season. My contract’s up at the end of the Season and if you’re not playing and in the shop window, no one’s going to take you for a further Season. "

2005 - Centre of attention at his testimonial

HILLSBOROUGH 2004

Getting Rangers' promotion party started with the first goal against Sheffield Wednesday.

2006 - Nearing the end of his QPR career this season
