AUGUST 2007 |
|
Damion Stewart v Bristol City (A) |
|
"Rangers went straight on the attack
and won a free kick on the right. Rowlands aimed yet another high ball
to the back post and Nygaard met it with a towering header and planted
it into the six yard box. Bristol City had knocked off and both Bailey
and Stewart were completely unmarked as the big Jamaican defender nodded
home unopposed from five yards." |

SEPTEMBER 2007 |
|
Mikele Leigertwood v Leicester (A) |
|
"He seemed to miss control yet
another bouncing ball but he managed to turn it to Rowlands. Rowly
immediately sent it back into his path and Leigertwood suddenly whipped
a swerving thirty yarder past Fulop into the bottom corner. It was an
absolute beauty! " |

OCTOBER 2007 |
|
Adam Bolder v Charlton (A) |
|
"A ball into the box fell to Ephraim
but his initial effort was blocked away. He chased his own shot before
dropping it off to Barker who was supporting from left back and his
cross into the six yard box was attacked by Nygaard. The Dane was up
before Weaver and the Charlton keeper couldn’t get anywhere near it as
the ball glanced off Nygaard’s head and dropped to Bolder. The much
maligned R’s skipper took a touch off his chest (and a bit of arm from
where I was sitting) before calmly volleying into the gaping net." |

NOVEMBER 2007 |
|
Mikele Leigertwood v Hull (H) |
|
"The muscular midfield man ran
forward and as he reached the edge of the Hull box he opened his body
out and curled a beauty into the top corner. As soon as it left his foot
you knew it was in, half the ground was up celebrating when the ball was
still ten yards from the goal! It was Leigertwood’s fifth goal in over
150 games; you have to wonder how the hell he hasn’t scored a lot more
give the two stunners he has bagged already in his ten Rangers games. " |

DECEMBER 2007 |
|
Akos Buzsaky's 1st v Colchester (H) |
|
"Rangers won a throw on the right
and Buzsaky lost his man and received the ball from Malcolm. He turned
inside and measured a beautiful curling left footed strike past Gerken
and into the far corner. That took Buzsaky to the top of the scoring
charts with four and every one of them had been a cracker. " |

|
JANUARY 2008 |
|
Rowan Vine v Barnsley (H) |
|
"Vine collected the ball wide on the
right and immediately burst infield leaving a host of Barnsley defenders
in his wake. He knocked the ball into Agyemang, and then took the
return; he then sent it back to Agyemang again and headed for the middle
of the six yard box. Agyemang picked him out perfectly and Vine slammed
the ball into the gaping net. It was superbly fashioned by a set of
players that look jammed full of confidence in their own ability at the
moment." |

|
FEBRUARY 2008 |
|
Akos Buzsaky v Bristol City (H) |
|
"Buzsaky picked the ball up and
drifted in off his wing before feeding the ball into the feet of
Agyemang on the edge of the box. He immediately laid it back to the
Hungarian and he smashed a left footed volley past Basso with the aid of
a slight deflection." |

|
MARCH 2008 |
|
Mikele Leigertwood's 1st v Stoke (H) |
|
"Leigertwood sent the ball wide
and then found it played back into him twenty five yards from goal. His
first touch saw the ball bounce up but his second touch was simply
stunning. He swung the left boot at it and made the sweetest of
connections to send the ball arrowing into the bottom corner with
Simonsen beaten all ends up." |

|
APRIL 2008 |
|
Gareth Ainsworth v Preston (H) |
|
"Rangers had started to use the ball
far better by now and Rowlands was moving the ball into wide areas.
Mancienne moved up on the attack and sent a low pass into Ainsworth on
the edge of the area. The ball bounced up and as Ainsworth fell away he
sent a sweet looping volley over Lonergan into the net." |
