Camp’s
first game of the month was the disappointing defeat at
Ipswich Town. Having seen his colleagues dominate the
first twenty minutes of the match, Lee then had to spend
large parts of the remaining seventy hurling himself
around Portman Road to try and keep the R’s in touching
distance. With the home side registering twelve shots on
target and Rangers only conceding from two of them; it
gives a pretty good indication of why I gave him my Man
of the Match award.
Next
was the home draw with Sheffield Wednesday. Campy didn’t
have a great deal of work to do but he did produce one
magnificent save to deny Chris Brunt a second goal on
the afternoon.
The
terms of Lee’s loan meant that he had to sit out the
draw at Derby but he was back in sticks for the
Leicester City game and in the first period he had to be
at his best as the home side dominated until the break.
His heroics gave Rangers and Nygaard in particular, a
platform to build from and for the second time in the
month I made him my Man of the Match.
The
last match was the agonising home defeat by West Brom.
Camp was helpless with either of West Brom’s goals but
in between times he pulled off a couple of terrific
stops and they allowed Rangers the opportunity to
equalise.
Camp’s
form over not just the month of March but into April
also has been the bedrock on which the charge to safety
has been built. The board have to pull out all the stops
to snap him up from Derby County in the summer because
if we don’t, someone else most certainly will.
Well
done Lee. |
